Dr. Yolanda Fountain Hardy had lots of opportunities to play as a child, which assisted her brain development and served as a respite from childhood trauma.   She also believes in the value of appropriately playing as an adult, which is quite fun and serves as a respite from stress.  Dr. Fountain Hardy was on the Family Feud twice (with zero answers correct and zero wins) and the Price Is Right once (in which she won everything including a car that she sold to pay off one year of graduate school)!  As such, she believes in the power of playing to advocate for mental health wellness and to prevent or respond to mental illness.  She has also experienced several challenging life events (trauma, parental loss, perinatal child loss, etc.) so she understands the courage that it takes to look inward and heal wounds.

Since 2006, Dr. Fountain Hardy has utilized a variety of helpful therapeutic approaches to provide safe space for children, adults, and families to overcome their life's challenges as well.  Despite the multitude of "letters" behind her name, they all re-enforce three things: 1) She loves to learn; 2) She has spent a great deal of time, money, and energy to stay abreast of advanced and effective treatment methods; and 3) The integration of things learned with personal and professional experiences serves to maximize the effectiveness of clients' journeys towards growth.  She frequently cares for business, entertainment and mental health professionals, pregnant persons, infants/children and parents, melanated/copper colored people, college students, and those with experiences of chronic pain, grief, perinatal/ infant/child loss, and trauma.

Dr. Fountain Hardy is the owner and executive director at Play Wellness LLC, the founder of the Child Loss Center Inc.  She was elected to serve as a board member for the Association for Play Therapy in 2024.  She has taught master's, doctoral, and medical students since 2011 and continues to supervise mental health clinicians, participate in speaking engagements, write professional publications, and provide trainings locally, nationally, and internationally on multiple topics related to mental health illness and wellness.   When in "relaxation mode," she loves spending time with her family, traveling, reading, learning, crocheting, and playing tennis and laser tag.  For more information about Dr. Fountain Hardy, see below (click on the purple tabs to move them):
