MEET THE SUPERVISORS
Choosing a quality supervisor is the key to becoming a competent clinician who provides quality services. We accept supervisees and consultees who care about quality and ethical clinical care. Read below to learn more about our supervisors. Contact us and/or schedule below for services.
Dr. Yolanda Fountain Hardy
Dr. Fountain Hardy holds three supervisory credentials as an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) by the Center for Credentialing and Education (a national credential), as a Registered Play Therapist and Supervisor (RPT-S) by the Association for Play Therapy (an international credential), and as a Qualified Supervisor by the North Carolina Board of Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors (a state credential). She provides supervision for professional/mental health counseling, infant mental health/child parent psychotherapy, play therapy, game therapy, and sand therapy.

CompetenceSince 2011, Dr. Fountain Hardy has provided individual and group supervision to students and clinicians of various disciplines in the higher education, psychiatric residential, community, and private practice settings. She has supervised master's and/or doctoral level clinicians at Georgia State University, Mercer University, Clark Atlanta University, and for the Ed.S. Play Therapy online program at the University of Mississippi.

TrainingDr. Fountain has been thoroughly trained to provide quality face-to-face clinical supervision via doctoral courses and internships at Mercer University. She also has online supervision training via the Alliance for the Advancement of Infant Mental Health, First 3 Years, Association for Play Therapy, TeleMental Health Institute, and the Telehealth Certification Institute. Dr. Fountain participates in supervision workshops and conferences for professional development and continuing education.

Theoretical ApproachDr. Fountain develops a customized supervision theoretical approach for each supervisee based on his/her needs. A combination of the following supervision models may be used to enhance the supervisee’s growth and development:
Reflective Supervision, Integrated Developmental Model (IDM), Discrimination Model, Person Centered, Cognitive-Behavioral, and/or the Play Therapy Dimensions Model (PTDM). Supervision may also be integrated with brainspotting. |
Dr. Mary Huffstead
Dr. Huffstead holds a state supervisory credential as a Certified Professional Counseling Supervisor (CPCS) by the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia. She is dedicated to providing supervision to pre- and associate licensed professional counselors and offers consultation to fully licensed mental health professionals. She assist clinical professions who work with children, bi/multiracial populations, interracial couples, and individuals who have experienced trauma, sexual abuse, or intimate partner violence.

CompetenceDr. Huffstead has over seven years of supervision experience with mental health counselors and school counselors. Dr. Huffstead has worked extensively with children, adolescents, and adults in an acute inpatient psychiatric treatment setting and with "at-risk" children and adolescents referred by the Department of Family and Children Services. She has also worked with women and children who have experienced or been exposed to intimate partner violence and sexual assault.

TrainingDr. Huffstead has taken multiple doctoral level supervision courses and received supervision of supervision for two consecutive years during her doctoral studies. She has also received online training to provide telemental health supervision. Dr. Huffstead engages in ongoing scholarship by presenting and attending supervision workshops and professional development trainings.

Theoretical ApproachDr. Huffstead tailors each supervision approach to the specific needs of her supervisees. She integrates the following supervision models to support each supervisee's growth and development: Integrated Supervision Model (IDM), Discrimination Model, Person-Centered, and Multicultural Social Justice Counseling Competencies.
