Ms. Kiana is an enthusiastic clinician who strives to provide excellent care and meet the needs of child, adolescent, and adult clients. She has clinical experiences working with foster families, adopted children and families, and at a child advocacy center with parents and children after experiences of trauma/abuse. Kiana uses a holistic approach when working with clients and assists them with grounding and centering themselves in each session to recover from adverse experiences, racism, abuse/neglect, and other life challenges. Her focus areas include trauma-informed care, multicultural counseling, and play therapy.
Kiana joined the Play Wellness team in 2020. She graduated with a Master of Science degree from Georgia State University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Kiana has applied to become an Associate Professional Counselor (APC) with the Georgia Board and is currently a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), brainspotting practitioner, play therapist, and sand therapist under the supervision of Dr. Fountain. She also received training to provide virtual therapy in the state of Georgia in 2020. Kiana feels most connected within herself when she is writing, surrounded by nature, listening to R&B music, or organizing her space. She also recharges by spending time with loved ones.
